Just the Wife and I

Leigh and I went out in the rain, fog and cold today. Fished from about 10:30 - 12:45, which is about the worst time to fish. Predictably we didn't get anything but it was great just spending time together. We didn't see another boat and there wasn't any chatter on the radio. The fog was really thick! We were about 5 miles off shore (200+ FOW); we had to completely depend on the GPS for navigation.
Here's Leigh driving the boat (notice the fog).

C-C-C-OLD!!!

Went out this morning from Bronte with Dan. It was cold and windy. We fished from about 6:30 to 10:30. Fishing was slow - didn't see or hear of any big kings being caught. We were able to hook into 5 Salmon but they were all small. Here's Dan with one of them - they were all about this size.

All the fish came on the same Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/green crinkle Howie fly in about 200 FOW, down 48'.

May 6, 1995

Today's our 11 year anniversary.

Best decision I made in my life was to marry Leigh Anne.

First Salmon Tournament

It almost happened. Lenny and I were at St. Catharines marina at 5:15, paid our entry fee, registered, launched the boat, and waited for the 6am blast off. It was delayed till 7am, then ultimately cancelled due to waves. Too bad.

We decided, along with a couple of other boats to give Bronte a try - with a NW wind, that side of the lake wouldn't be near as rough. However, the North shore doesn't usually heat up until late June so weren't too optimistic...put in about 3 hours and got one small king and a nice 17 pounder on a NBK spoon, 74FOW down about 37'. Here's Lenny with it.
