Nice Picture

Jacob's Dream pulled up on a remote beach on an island in Lake Nippising. My precious daughter looks on.

Bronte Aug 20 - Just me and my Boy.

Was out from about 6:15 to 10:30. Was supposed to go with my brother, but he called at 5am - too tired ::) So it was just me and my 7 year old boy. Steering in the waves while I set up was a little tricky but he didn't do that bad.

Was running a spoon, lyman, dipsey/fly and meat. Nothing happened for the first 2.5 hours. Got some information that the temp was pretty much constant through the whole water column and a couple of fish had been caught deep. Marked some stuff near bottom. Lowered the Lyman and spoon. Still nothing. Decided to scrap the dipsey fly and run the meat down 100' near the bottom without a flasher and stack a flsher/meat about 20' up from it. FISH ON. 5 pound chinny. Put the same rod down and 10 min later another FISH ON. This time bigger and a great fighter.

Somebody tell me if this is a Steelhead/bow or Coho....

The boy was getting hungry, so we packed it in and headed to Harvey's for lunch. Good talking to Big D and Skeiner out there. I'm out of town this week on business so that's it for me for awhile.

UPDATE: The experts have spoken - it's definately a Rainbow Trout.

Bronte Aug 15 - AM

Nice morning on the water. Went out with my brother in Law. Slow for us and from the chatter on the radio it seemed slow all around. Fished from about 6:15 to 10:15. Ended the morning 3 for 3. First fish was a 10lber, hit at about 6:40, spin doc/meat 80 FOW, down 40. Second one was 22lbs and hit at about 7:00, 70 FOW, same rod. Last one was a small guy that took the dipsey/spin doc/fly in 100 FOW just as we were starting to pack up.
Here's Lenny with the big one.

Chatted with a fishing friend named Roho on the radio. He was doing better than most.

Another Slow One

Out Salmon hunting yesterday with my brother Dave, my son David and nephew James.

Another tough one. Fished from 6 to 10:30am. Got a 10lber right off the bat on the dipsey/spin doc/fly in about 80 FOW. Thought it was going to be a good day but we only got one more small one after that on a Water Melon NK 74 over 205.

Hopefully things will pick up soon.
