Port Dalhousie/Niagara Bar

Went out with Rob Kapteyn this morning. Met up at 5:30 and launched the boat around 6:30. It was kinda "punchy" out there. We trolled around Port Weller for the first hour or so and then made our way east. We were about 1/4 of the way to the bar in 40FOW when likely the biggest Salmon of my life hit a green and yellow stinger spoon. This fish had shoulders! I couldn't make any gains on him, he splashed, jumped and most of all ran! I was getting near the end of my spool and had no choice but the tighen the drag and "horse" him a little...didn't work...line snapped and he was gone. Man! I would have loved to land that guy.

Didn't get anymore action in that area so we headed to the bar. Had 4 hookups there but were only able to land 2.

All in all, a great morning.

Dead Leafs!

This afternoon David and I went to the Leafs and Buffalo game, in Buffalo. Leafs were horrible and lost 6-0!!! Nevertheless, it was great to spend the day making memories with my son...

Here's the opening faceoff.

Here's David at the front of the arena.

Easter weekend

I'd like to wish you and your family a good easter weekend. I hope you all enjoy the break and have some valuable family time. There are a number of Easter services you might want to consider attending, includng Eyes of Faith.

Skunkaroo

Went out of Jordan yesterday by myself, 6:45 to about 9am. Waves were horrible, it was hard to setup and I couldn't find the fish. Quit early, mostly out of frustration.

Swap Meet

Went with a friend to a fishing swap meet in St.Catharines today. It was put on by Reel 'em Fishing. It was fun. Up to now, my only contact with most of these guys has been on the web boards or chatting over the radio - it was good to put more faces to names. I enjoy shootin' the breeze about Salmon fishing with guys who have been doing it a lot longer than myself.

I also picked up everything in this picture for $34!
